Destination - Stade, Germany! Challenge of Travel reveal

Challenge of Travel

Once again Erin Prais-Hintz of Tesori Trovati has created a cohesive yet diverse and individual challenge. The brief: Select a region, then a country. Create an accessory or your choice that evokes that nation. Sounds simple. Yet the possibilities are endless.

Is your passport in order? Challenge of Travel preview (Part II)

Tomorrow is the big reveal - Erin's Challenge of Travel. Yesterday I shared information on famous German figures in science, literature, music. Today - the arts.

Start packing your bags... Challenge of Travel preview

This Saturday is Erin's Challenge of Travel blog hop reveal. Its a creative challenge to create a themed piece - in this case the country of your choice. Germany is mine. Not exotic, not a place that is known for a different design aesthetic - like  Japan or Aboriginal Austaralia. German is a large part of my heritage (along with Irish, Welsh and Scottish. Full Celt!) yet I have never been there.

A glimpse of Austin. (Time Flew - continued.)

As promised - the catching up. Let me entertain you with a few snapshots from my recent trip to Austin. I had a wonderful time hanging out with family and did get to hit one or two of my favorite spots on South Congress...

Allen's boots

Jackalope cowboy?

Time Flew. Had fun.

Oh heavens a week ago today I was home from Austin. Home late Wednesday night actually. Since i got home - its been a frenzy. Spoutwood May Day Faerie Festival is right around the corner. I need new collage/mixed media work for a local show, to hang on April 30th. The tax man was insisting we file his papers on time. Class to teach, chores...So I endeavor to catch up, and present a slide show of scenes and cuteness from Austin, Easter, and my lil nephew...

Above the clouds...

New York adventure - part 2

Sorry I didnt bring you part 2 of the trio yesterday. I got a little waylaid wrapping holiday gifts!

So to rejoin or intrepid travelers...after reveling in the Frouds' mastery and magic - we headed uptown. Now we love New York, and had no desire to see it crawl past from the confines of a cab. So GPS ap in hand, we walked: ( I couldn't get the map ebbedded. Will consult with computer guru/husband later. Suffice to say - we walked from Madison Square Garden in Midtown - to Soho and back! Sure we were tired, but it was an amazing day...)
