BeadFest - these are the people in my neighborhood

My first Beadfest as an exhibitor has come and gone. It was most definitely worth the days spend firing and glazing in a frenzy! I had a wonderful time - seeing my pieces well received, meeting new friends, catching up with old friends. And I managed to fit in a little shopping and a bit of barter (tomorrow's post). For now - a recap of the booth, and a few of my neighbors. I regret not taking more people pictures...I seem to have focused on the beads.

FaerieCon m.a.g.i.c - A is for art and artists

When I was  middle school art teacher I used to show the movie "Labyrinth" to my 6th grade students. I wanted to impress upon them that there were people out there, working, and creating incredible art. That art can be a lucrative job... Just look at the film with only 2 humans and all creatures! Never did I think that I would meet, let alone go to events with Brian and Wendy Froud - the designers of said magical creatures in the movie. My original copy of "Faeries" by Brian Froud and Alan Lee is dog-eared to say the least...

FaerieCon m.a.g.i.c - M is for mermaid

Once a year I get to leave the world behind and cross over into the land of FaerieCon. I won't return aged 100 years, it is safe to partake of food and drink, but I will see glorious wonders and frolic with friends, old and new, and my gypsy faerie family. (I am not exagerating, although I may be accused of waxing poetic.) Until you have experienced an event such as this, you will have to take my word, suspend your disbelief, and read on...

Bethany. Beach. Boardwalk. Beautiful...

Bethany1

The day dawned cloudy and a little hazy, but that did not last long. I had a great spot on the boards, at the top of the main drag in town.

Holiday weekend: shows, summer, beach, neighbors...and water ice

Shadey view

This was my view a week ago - Saturday July 2nd, to be exact. I cant believe a week has gone by already! Yikes! Last Saturday was the St. Peter's Fine Art Show in Lewes, DE. It is one of my regular shows, that I enjoy, and this weekend was even more perfect - the weather cooperated! Take a look at that sky...

Catching up... and creative undertakings

Where did last week go? I lost a few days in a pollen induced haze of headaches and general lethargy. It is amazing how fantastic "Normal" feels after running  on depleted energy stores. SO last week-  no posts. Oops.

This week - there is a lot going on. Meeting today with the amazing M. Carol Mauer to finalize our plans for a ceramic finger labyrinth class. Should be wonderful. More on that ASAP. (It will be soon, in Wilmington, DE)

A to Z: D is for destination... ( and delay - apparently)

1
: the purpose for which something is destined
2
: an act of appointing, setting aside for a purpose, or predetermining
3
: a place to which one is journeying or to which something is sent <kept their destination secret>

Another sprinkling of Faerie(Con) dust...

Day Two began with coffee, chatting about the previous night's fun and frolic...
