Bead Soup Blog Party 2013 aka treasures by mail...

I am not going to use many words here... just pictures. Because you see - my Bead Soup arrived from the lovely Jennifer Cabic - and I want to head to the studio.

Here is what I sent to Jennifer

January's end?! The AJE Component of the Month reveal.

January has flown. I always have dreams of hibernating and catching up on the stacks of books that inhabit all rooms of my house. This year I was in the studio every day. Collages (4 new) and mixed media necklaces ( 6 new) for a gallery show that opens tomorrow. When that show was hung, it was with great pleasure that I got to return to this beauty from Karen/Starry Road Studio. I had been thinking on it for weeks, literally, and wanted to make my design become reality...

Give a hoot! And vote for a hoot...

While the title of this contest makes me laugh - I had to enter, and share...

Hooters challenge

The timing corresponds with Halloween, naturally. Artisan Whimsy is an online social networking group for beaders and the like. They are hosting this contest! There are categories to vote for owl components and finished jewelry featuring owls. I make quite a few:

Beadfest bounty.

I wanted to share with you some of the treasures that I brought home from Beadfest. As I may have mentioned - I am thrilled to be a part of this creative community, and found the environment of Beadfest invigorating. I came home with materials, artist beads, and ideas to last me a good while. I do have a tendency to live with the new materials for a while before incorporating them into new pieces. The artist beads and focals are handcrafted by colleagues, fellow artists; I want to share their information here - we all support each other with marketing, blogging, social media...

BeadFest - these are the people in my neighborhood

My first Beadfest as an exhibitor has come and gone. It was most definitely worth the days spend firing and glazing in a frenzy! I had a wonderful time - seeing my pieces well received, meeting new friends, catching up with old friends. And I managed to fit in a little shopping and a bit of barter (tomorrow's post). For now - a recap of the booth, and a few of my neighbors. I regret not taking more people pictures...I seem to have focused on the beads.

Bloom and Grow - Suburban Girl Design Team Spring Challenge

Good Morning! I am pleased to welcome you to the Spring edition of Suburban Girl Studio's Design Team Hop and Reveal. I was thrilled when Diana asked me to be on her design team. She and I totally hit it off, and have so much in common - including the fact that we make ceramic pendants, charms... So why be on her team? Her work is lovely, and totally different from my own. What a creative  'shot in the arm" to be sent lovelies in the mail and get to make jewelry with them!

Charmed I'm sure! or "The Postman rang thrice..."

Lucky Charms. Hearts, stars and clover? Yes, and more!

The crafty creative chicas at Ornamentea in Raleigh NC hosted a "Lucky Charm Swap". Send in 7 charms, made by your own hands. Pay for shipping. Recieve 7 charms! What a deal! So here is the first package of bead goodness:

Bead Fest, bead swap, bead abundance.

When I left for Philadelphia Saturday morning, with Marsha of Marsha Neal Studio, I had the best laid bloggy plans. We were headed to Beadfest. I wanted to take pictures of inspirational items, gorgeous gems, beautiful beads, and the people...Here is all I managed:
